The Geeveston Town Hall will soon have a fresh look as works get underway next week to install a new roof.
Built in the early 1900s, the original lapped iron sheeting, has sadly deteriorated over time and now requires replacement to ensure the hall remains a safe space for future generations.
The new roofing has been chosen to respect the character of this important heritage building.
The work is expected to take approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
What to Expect During the Works:
Footpath Closure: The footpath on Church Street will be temporarily closed for the duration of the roofing work. Access to the Town Hall: The Town Hall will be open as usual with modified access. Please follow the signs. Access to Bendigo Bank: Bendigo Bank will be open throughout, you will just need to cross from the opposite side of the street. Work area: A designated work area will be roped off at the rear of the Town Hall to provide a safe space for contractors. Please avoid this area for your safety. The project reflects our commitment to preserving the rich history of Geeveston and ensuring that the Town Hall continues to serve the community’s needs.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during the works.
