Fremantle to host Positive Ageing & Volunteering Expo

The City of Fremantle, along with the Cities of Cockburn and Melville, are pleased to host a Positive Ageing Expo & Volunteering Expo at the end of this month.

The purpose of the free event is to promote and encourage healthy lifestyles and wellness opportunities for over 55s. 

Everyone is welcome to attend and experience a wide variety of stalls, engaging activities, health checks and discussion corners.

Time: 10am to 2pm

Location: Walyalup Koort, Fremantle Town Hall and Fremantle Library  

Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge stressed the importance of being active and healthy in later life.

"More than a quarter of our population is in the over 55s age bracket. This Expo will give them a taste of all the services and facilities that are available in our community.

"One of our goals as a council is to for Fremantle to be a place where it's easy for people to live safe, happy and healthy lives.

"I invite all the over 55s to come along and try something new, discover some useful information and make important connections to enrich your lives," Mayor Fitzhardinge said.

There will be 50 stalls showcasing local service providers, clubs and businesses.

Other highlights will include:

an author talk and discussion on ageing at 10.45am a come-and-try session with modified bikes free hearing assessments connections to volunteering opportunities and a chance to chat with Pearl the Guerrilla Granny!
