The much-loved Cambridge Street Festival is making a long-awaited comeback in 2025, to mark a major milestone – 30 years since the Town of Cambridge became its own local government area.
The festival was first held to celebrate the Town’s 20th anniversary, and after many years of popularity, was put on hold due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the Town is pleased to bring it back, bigger and better than ever, as part of its 30th-anniversary celebrations.
Taking place on Saturday, 15 March, Cambridge Street – between Simper and Jersey streets – will transform into a vibrant festival hub, welcoming residents and visitors of all ages for a free, family-friendly day of fun.
Town of Cambridge Mayor Gary Mack said the festival’s return was the perfect way to appreciate the Town’s history while bringing the community together.
“The Cambridge Street Festival has always been a fantastic event that showcases the energy and spirit of our community,” Mayor Mack said.
“We are incredibly excited to see it back this year, especially as we celebrate three decades as a local government. This festival is about creating spaces for people to gather, celebrating our achievements, and looking forward to the future.”
Festivalgoers can look forward to a huge line-up of entertainment, including live performances, market stalls, children’s activities, fun rides, and plenty of food and drink options. There will also be roving performers and buskers adding to the lively street atmosphere, along with local businesses opening their doors to join in the celebrations.
“We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the entertainment, support small business, and take in everything the festival has to offer,” Mayor Mack said.
“It’s going to be a fantastic day, and we can’t wait to see the community come together to celebrate.”
The Cambridge Street Festival will take place from 3pm to 8pm on Saturday, 15 March 2025.
