The annual Central Highlands Regional Council Art Awards – Springsure winners were announced at the official award presentation in the evening of Friday 7 March 2025.

The event kicked off a must-see exhibition at the Bauhinia Bicentennial Art Gallery in Springsure.

Council received 113 art entries across 7 categories, with a broad variety of entries in each section.

Councillor Robert Donaldson and Councillor Karen Newman oversaw the awards and commended the talent displayed.

‘Council’s Annual Award Awards in Springsure attracted artists from across the nation and showcases incredible diversity,’ Councillor Newman said.

‘Art is a personal reflection of an individual artists’ thoughts, feelings and imagination immortalised in their chosen medium.’

‘I thank all the artists who entered to share their unique perspectives and encourage the many younger artists to keep developing their craft.’ She added.

Councillor Donaldson congratulated the winning works.

‘Congratulations to the winners and all entrants. It truly is an outstanding exhibition,’ he said.

‘The quality of work on display is a testament to the talent and dedication of artists in our own community, and right across Australia. I encourage everyone to take the time to experience it.’ He continued.

One award is still yet to be determined, the People’s Choice Award. Community members are invited to cast their vote for their favourite artwork by visiting the Have Your Say page or scanning one of the QR codes within the gallery.
