Floreat Surf Life Saving Club Project Upgrade Statement

Published on 18 March 2025

The Town of Cambridge is actively working to recommence the Floreat Surf Life Saving Club redevelopment, following the liquidation of Contstruct360, as announced on 14 February.

At the end of February, the Town issued an addendum to the original Request for Tender, inviting all previous respondents to submit updated proposals to take on the remainder of the project. Four submissions were received and evaluated by the Town. This evaluation considered the revised timeframes, ability to re-engage existing subcontractors and ability to minimise delays and impacts on the Floreat Surf Life Saving Club.

At a Special Council Meeting on 11 March, Council resolved to begin negotiations with a preferred replacement contractor to recommence and complete construction works. Following the award of the contract, the Town will announce a new project timeline and our preferred supplier.

The Town recognises the importance of the Floreat Surf Life Saving Club to the community and in supporting beachgoers to enjoy the ocean safely.

The Town is continuing to work with the Floreat Life Saving Club to ensure impacts on its operations are minimised.

We will provide further updates as soon as more information is available.
