Shire President Cr Garry Ventris has formally announced his intention to resign from his role as President after serving nearly 8 years on Council and 5 years as Shire President. Cr Ventris will continue to serve the community as an elected Councillor for the remainder of his term.
Cr Ventris has served as Shire President with dedication and commitment, guiding the Council through significant projects and decisions that have shaped the future of Boddington. During his tenure, Cr Ventris has been a strong advocate for key projects that enhance liveability and sustainability. His leadership has helped drive initiatives such as the community gym, the town centre revitalisation, and plans for enhancements to the Caravan Park, all of which contribute to the Shire’s long-term vision for growth and development. In addition, Cr Ventris has been a strong contributor to the Residential Aged Care Steering Committee, the Housing Strategy Reference Group and the Aboriginal Reference Group.
“Serving as Shire President has been a privilege, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside my fellow Councillors and the community,” Mr Ventris said. “While I am stepping down from the role of President, I remain committed to supporting the Shire and working towards the best outcomes for Boddington.”
A Special Council Meeting will be convened in the next week to elect a replacement Shire President.
The Shire thanks Cr Ventris for his leadership and ongoing service, and looks forward to his continued contributions as a Councillor.
