Voting Now Open for the 2025 National Awards for Local Government

The Shire of York is proud to announce that Reintroducing Traditional Aboriginal Mosaic Cultural Burning to Ballardong Country has been entered into the 2025 National Awards for Local Government. This initiative supports the revitalisation of traditional fire management practices, contributing to both cultural heritage and disaster resilience.

The project is nominated in two categories:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People’s Recognition Disaster Readiness and Recovery
