The Cora Lynn Recreation Reserve Pavilion is set to undergo significant upgrades to improve facilities for local sporting clubs and the wider community.
The enhancement project will focus on improving the change rooms and umpire facilities to support players of all genders and abilities.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jack Kowarzik expressed his enthusiasm for the improvement project. “This project reflects our commitment to enhancing facilities and promoting inclusion right across our shire,” said Mayor Kowarzik. “By investing in facilities that cater to diverse needs, we aim to enable greater participation in sports and support everyone in our community.”
Key features of the upgrades include:
Unisex change rooms An accessible change room Umpire change facilities Strapping, first aid, storage, and meeting rooms Public toiletsIn addition, a new independent timekeeper building, equipment shed, and water pump shed will be established at the reserve. The existing social and canteen buildings will be retained, and the new change room facilities will complement the current design and layout of the reserve.
Construction is scheduled to begin in March, with upgrades expected to be completed in late 2025. Temporary change room facilities will be installed on-site for club use throughout the construction period to minimise disruption.
