Capital Works Program Update - February 2025

Council has an ongoing program of capital works and upgrades to buildings, parks, playgrounds and roads across the Federation Council Region. The following activities were undertaken during February 2025 by Federation Council’s Operations Works teams. 

Table Drain Maintenance 

With the storm cell damages in and around Mulwala early this month a focus was clearing table drains on Spring Drive and rural roads. Also, customer requests when needed. 

Sealed Roads

Numerous customer requests for pothole repairs on sealed urban and rural roads have been received and actioned with the Corowa based Flocon patching truck and the Urana based Jet Master patching truck. In particular there has been a focus on the Redlands Road, Humden Road, Merton Road, Bullplain Road, Savernake Road, Boatrock Road and townships. 

Quarries 

Balldale – Carting Gravel for various projects listed in the grader section.  Davies Hill – Carting Gravel for various projects listed in the grader section 

Maintenance Crew/Sundry Crew

Flood sign & depth marker installation. Culvert installations / repairs. Footpath maintenance / repairs. Sign replacements. Guide posts / signage. Working with construction crews as required. Fulfilling customer requests. Table drain maintenance

Heavy Trucks

Carting gravel for FLR Round 4 Whitehead Street rehabilitation works.  Carting stone for patching trucks, Flocon and Jetmaster.  Carting excess spoil to Corowa Landfill for cover & capping. 

TfNSW – RMCC 

Maintenance works under the RMCC agreement.  Herbicide application, pothole patching, guide post replacements. 

Corowa Aerodrome 

Twice weekly inspections carried out to ensure compliance with the MOS 139. Repairs to lights as required.

Construction 1 & 2

Minor Patching, urban and rural roads.  Pothole repairs and gravel patching in urban unsealed roads. Table drain maintenance, drainage and culvert works, urban and rural roads. Footpath maintenance and repairs.  Kerb and channel maintenance and repairs. Service numerous Customer Requests / Attend Call Outs.
