NRE releases new information on salmon mortality event

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) Tasmania has released two key documents about the recent salmon mortality event in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel.

The documents address community concerns about the unprecedented seasonal deaths of salmon in the Channel and provide up-to-date information about Piscirickettsia salmonis (P. salmonis), the bacteria involved.

These resources are designed to help community members better understand the situation and its management.
