Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced the Federal election for the 3rd of May. Prior to this announcement, three federal candidates committed to reinstating funding for Lithgow Main Street paver replacement if elected. However, this political manoeuvring has led to the expression of concerns regarding the competency of the Lithgow City Council.
Moreover, there has been an increase in negative commentary on social media.
Although all Councils face challenges, I firmly believe that the staff at Lithgow City Council are a dedicated team striving to continually improve and deliver essential services.
They are our friends and family members working in various roles to serve the community.
Recent notable achievements include completion of $16.6M of capital works in six months, delivery of events, and progress on the Wolgan Road, water security, and emerging economy projects.
As Mayor, alongside Deputy Mayor Councillor Steve Ring, we fully support the Council staff in their continuous efforts to serve the community and the General Manager in his implementation of critical system improvements.
Cr Cass Coleman, Mayor.
