The City of Albany is once again participation in the WA Tree Festival to celebrate the vital role trees play in our environment and community.

Running from 12 April to 10 May 2025, the festival invites community members and visitors to take part in a wide variety of events and activities designed to foster a deeper connection with nature.

This year’s program has something for everyone, with guided walks through Albany’s natural spaces, interactive art workshops, outdoor meditation, poetry evenings, and a designing with native plants workshop.

Families with children can make the most of the school holiday period with nature-based storytelling sessions, creative workshops, garden discovery activities, and spotlighting tours to observe Albany’s nocturnal wildlife — all designed to spark curiosity and connection with the outdoors.

The Albany Public Library will also host a series of film screenings and other activities focusing on sustainability and conservation. Climate and Sustainability Project Officer Kylie Outhwaite emphasised the importance of the festival in fostering environmental awareness.

“The WA Tree Festival is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the beauty and benefits of trees,” she said.

“Through engaging activities and thoughtful discussions, we hope to inspire greater appreciation for how trees support biodiversity and enhance our urban spaces.

“By participating in the festival, individuals and families can learn simple and practical ways to care for our natural environment now and for future generations.”
