LogBook Run Returns - Sign Up for Free Learner Driver Training

Published on 03 April 2025

The LogBook Run is making a return to Yass on Sunday, 13 April, giving learner drivers a great chance to gain experience and log driving hours in a fun and supportive environment. Hosted by Yass Valley Council and Yass Valley Police, this event is all about building driver confidence and improving driving skills. Learner Drivers across the Yass Valley are encouraged to sign up and take advantage of this free program.

Why Join the LogBook Run?

Country drivers often need higher levels of hazard recognition training than urban drivers, and this free program is designed to give learner drivers' experience in many different country driving conditions. It’s a great way to learn from experienced instructors and police officers in a relaxed setting.

What’s Involved?

The morning starts with a quick briefing from driving instructors and police before heading out on the road on a set route. Along the way, learners will be given tasks to practice key driving skills, such as three-point turns, roundabouts and traffic lights – and even navigating the MacDonalds drive through!

Observers will be staged along the route to give feedback and handy tips to help learners improve their driving skills.

A Unique Experience with Highway Patrol

The local Police will also be involved, pulling over as many learner drivers as possible for a Random Breath Test (RBT). This gives learners a chance to experience an RBT in a safe and controlled environment.
