On Monday, 24 March 2025, the Coolgardie Community Resource Centre (CRC) hosted a highly informative and engaging Energy Ahead Workshop for our senior residents. A total of 14 seniors attended, eager to learn how they could reduce their household energy use and lower their electricity bills.
The workshop was inspired by Ann Meagher, one of our regular Seniors Morning Tea participants. After watching an ABC Report on energy-saving measures, Ann approached the CRC to ask if we could host the Energy Ahead Workshop. She also reached out to The Financial Wellbeing Collective who were keen to bring the workshop to Coolgardie, even generously providing morning tea and gift bags for all participants.
The Energy Ahead Community Workshop offers practical tips on how to understand and manage household energy consumption. It is designed to provide helpful advice on saving energy and reducing electricity bills. The feedback from the workshop was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees appreciating the valuable tips shared.
This workshop is part of an ongoing collaboration between The Financial Wellbeing Collective and Synergy. It is available free of charge to residential Synergy customers. The Financial Wellbeing Collective is a network of not-for-profit community organisations and local government, working together to deliver important services to the community.
If you’d like to see more workshops like this in Coolgardie or have an idea for something else you’d like to see offered, please don’t hesitate to visit the Coolgardie CRC or email us at [email protected]
A big thank you to Sameal for facilitating this workshop and making it a success!
