An additional 100 homes in the Vale View area of the Toowoomba Region will soon be connected to the Bulk Water Supply network.
Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) recently undertook a $1 million project to connect existing homes and plan for future growth in the area.
Toowoomba Region Deputy Mayor and portfolio spokesperson for Strategic Water Planning Councillor Rebecca Vonhoff said the completed project was a terrific win for the Vale View community.
“Connecting to the Bulk Water Supply network provides the Vale View community with improved water quality and long-term security of supply for the area,” Cr Vonhoff said.
“It’s a positive outcome for the community as these Vale View residents have been on high-level water restrictions since June 2019 due to the unreliability of the bore that previously supplied their homes.
“Residents in that Vale View area can now transition to low-level restrictions in line with other areas on the Bulk Water Supply,” she said.
The project involved in installation of a 2.17km trunk water main along Smith Creek Road at Vale View which will now supply residents in the Stark Drive, Graham Drive, Timothy Drive and Smith Creek Road areas.
The bore which previously supplied this area will be decommissioned.
