Toph Tri Cera’s interactive art installation, The Mortifying Ordeal, is inviting Crows Nest Gallery visitors to consider how they perceive the world and each other.

The exhibition will be on display at the gallery from April 16 to May 18, 2025.

Viewers will be challenged to consider that it is impossible to experience a world without the influence of their own personal perspectives.

This interactive installation creates a literal framework that reflects the phenomenon of our internal and physical points of view.

Toph has built this framework from her perspective, including her own biases, areas of clouded judgement, and reconnection with her inner child.

Reflective, colourful and interactive surfaces are an invitation for the viewer to consider how their own perspective is physically and metaphorically reflected onto their experience of the world and the people around them.

This engaging space invites the viewer to experience and reflect on this phenomenon in real time, while interacting and engaging with others.

The exhibition’s Meet the Artist event will be held from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
