The Town of Cambridge is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Clack as its new Chief Executive Officer following a Council decision made on 15 April 2025.
Ms Clack brings extensive leadership experience as the Town’s first female CEO, having worked across Local and State Government for over 25 years, including being the CEO at the Shire of Merredin.
Since March 2024, she has served as the Town’s Director Corporate and Commercial Services, overseeing the Town’s finances, rates, procurement, property and leasing and the commercial management of the award winning, Wembley Golf Course and Bold Park Aquatic Centre. Her strong track record in strategy, financial management, and delivering community-focused outcomes will ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Ms Clack’s new position follows a substantial leadership career in local government, including Shire of Merredin, Shire of East Pilbara, City of Wanneroo, City of Joondalup, and City of Melville, as well as managerial roles at the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD), WA Police, and the Department of Fire & Emergency Services WA (DFES).
Mayor Gary Mack welcomed Ms Clack’s appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to lead the Town forward.
“Lisa brings a wealth of experience in public policy, stakeholder engagement, and safety services and has demonstrated her ability to navigate complex issues with a solutions-focused approach. We are confident that the Town will continue to thrive under her leadership,” he said.
Mayor Mack also acknowledged the significance of this appointment, as Ms Clack becomes the first female CEO in Cambridge’s history.
“This is an important milestone for the Town as her selection reflects the evolving nature of local government leadership, and we are proud to have such a capable and accomplished leader guiding our organisation. I, and the rest of Council, look forward to this newest chapter in the Town’s history in the same year we celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are excited about what lies ahead as we all work to making Cambridge a great place to live, work and visit.”
Mayor Mack expressed his gratitude to Kelton Hincks (Director Infrastructure & Works) for his service as Acting CEO since August 2024.
“On behalf of Council, I sincerely thank Kelton for his leadership and commitment over the past nine months. His steady guidance has been invaluable, and we appreciate his contribution to ensuring continuity for the organisation during this transition,” Mayor Mack said.
Ms Clack said she was honoured to take on the role and looked forward to working closely with Council, Administration, and the community. “I am excited to lead the Town and build on the great work already underway. I look forward to working alongside our Elected Members, staff, and community to achieve the community’s vision for the Town,” she said.
“I look forward to the opportunities ahead as we continue to shape a sustainable and vibrant future for Cambridge.”
The Town of Cambridge thanks the members of the CEO Recruitment Committee - Mayor Gary Mack, Deputy Mayor Ben Mayes, Councillor Jane Cutler, Councillor Kate Barlow, and Independent Member Ms Jessica Seares - for their dedication throughout the rigorous recruitment process.
Ms Clack will officially commence as CEO on 28 April 2025.
