Moree Plains Shire Council was a finalist for the 2024 A R Bluett Memorial Award with the winner announced at the Local Government Association NSW conference held in Tamworth over the weekend.
We would love to congratulate Bega Valley Shire Council for being awarded this very prestigious award.
Bega Valley Shire Council impressed the judges with strategies to maintain its $1.9 billion worth of assets following the devastating Black Summer fires of 2019/20 and 13 subsequent disaster declarations, by guiding the growth of the shire to a more sustainable community.

The A.R. Bluett Memorial Award has been presented annually since 1945 in commemoration of Albert Robert Bluett, who served as the Secretary and Solicitor to the Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW for 30 years.
