Celebrating Excellence in our Shire- Nominate Now for the 2025 Australia Day Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2025 Australia Day Awards, a chance to honour and celebrate remarkable individuals and community groups who have made significant contributions to the Moree Plains.

Mayor Cr Susannah Pearse is calling on residents to support the awards by nominating those who have gone above and beyond to enrich our community.

"We are fortunate to have so many passionate individuals and local clubs that dedicate their time and energy to the Moree Plains," said the Mayor. "Now is the time to shine a light on our region’s inspirational and unsung heroes by submitting nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards."

Residents can submit nominations for the local categories of

-  Citizen of the Year (over 25 years) -  Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16-25 years) -  Community Event of the Year -  Community/Volunteer Group of the Year -  Sports Person of the Year -  Young Sports Person of the Year -  Volunteer of the Year

The 2025 Australia Day Award nominations are open until 5pm, Friday 10 January 2025.

Complete online or for a hardcopy head into Council’s Customer Service, Level 2, 30 Heber Street, Moree.
