The streets of Yass were alive with festive cheer as over 70 community groups and 3,000 spectators gathered to enjoy the 2024 Christmas on Comur Street. Now in its 4th year, this growing event has become a Christmas highlight, bringing together the entire Yass Valley community. Highlights included a magical Santa’s Grotto, market stalls, late night shopping, camel rides, and free Christmas trees for the community - all helping to thank our communities for their support to the Yass Valley over the year.
The event was made possible by the NSW Government Open Streets Funding, which helps activate public spaces for community events by covering cost of road closures and traffic management. Local businesses saw a significant increase in shoppers who stayed on after the parade, enjoying late-night shopping along the main street and exploring the wide array of local market stalls.
