Edward River Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan Holahan as the new Director Corporate Services. Nathan will be joining the Council from Murray Irrigation, where he has served as Company Secretary and General Manager Corporate Services since 2020.

A long-time resident of Deniliquin, Nathan has lived in the community for the past 18 years with his partner Steph and their two young children.

He completed his Bachelor of Law in 2022 and has a distinguished list of achievements, including completing the Company Directors Course.

Nathan is also actively involved in the community, having served as President of the Deniliquin Rugby Union Football Club, and now committee member; and was proudly named Young Citizen of the Year at the Deniliquin Council Australia Day Awards in 2008.

Nathan is a natural leader with a people-first approach, making him an excellent fit for the future of Edward River Council. Due to his existing commitments at Murray Irrigation and planned leave, Nathan will commence his role in July.

Mayor Cr Ashley Hall commented on the appointment, saying, "Nathan's extensive experience and dedication to our community make him an outstanding choice for this role. His leadership and vision will be invaluable as we continue to strive for excellence in serving the residents of Edward River Council."

Edward River Council's CEO, Jack Bond, also expressed his enthusiasm for Nathan's appointment, stating, "Nathan's strong ties to Deniliquin and his deep understanding of the region and its key issues make him uniquely qualified for this position. His familiarity with our community and his commitment to addressing local challenges will be a tremendous asset to our Council."

Edward River Council looks forward to welcoming Nathan to the team and is confident that his broad experience and dedication to the community will greatly benefit Council, and ultimately, the region.
