Yass Valley Council is pleased to announce a series of upcoming footpath upgrades to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility in Yass Township.
Thanks to funding secured through the NSW Road Safety Program 2023/24 – 2025/26, Council will deliver several new and upgraded pedestrian pathways, as outlined in our 2017 Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP).
Where are the upgrades happening?
New or upgraded footpaths will be constructed at the following locations:
Shaw Street – between Petit Street and Crago Street Crago Street – between Shaw Street and Aldi Petit Street – between Church Street and Julian Place Julian Place – between Petit Street and Walker Place Walker Place – between Merriman Drive and Julian PlaceHere is a map showing the proposed footpaths: Footpath-Works-Sep-25-Yass-township.pdf(PDF, 447KB)
When will work begin?
Construction is scheduled to commence in September/October 2025. A contractor will be appointed in the coming months. Once confirmed, residents will receive further updates with specific work dates for each section of the footpath.
