Ms Leopold will take the helm of the Infrastructure, Planning & Environment portfolio from Brad Ferris, who recently announced he would retire after a 36-year career with AlburyCity, when his current five-year term ends on 30 June.Announcing Ms Leopold’s appointment, AlburyCity Chief Executive, Frank Zaknich, acknowledged her extensive experience and the importance of the role for Albury and region.“Albury’s continued growth as one of Australia’s significant regional cities places a great emphasis on the infrastructure, planning and environment needs across our city and region,” he said.“Bridgett brings more than 15 years’ experience in government-related sectors, across all three levels of government, as well as several years’ experience in the private sector, to her new role at AlburyCity.”“Bridgett’s skills in policy development and program management, knowledge of government, and experience across the energy, water, waste, sustainability, emergency management, intergovernmental relations and regional advocacy sectors will be invaluable in building our future organisation and community.”Ms Leopold is currently Deputy Inspector-General in the Australian Government Office of the Inspector-General of Water Compliance, a key role in the management of water resources across the Murray Darling Basin.Prior roles include Executive Officer for the Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation (RAMJO), Commercial Manager at Mars Australia and various leadership roles in emergency services and intergovernmental relations within the SA and ACT governments.“Bridgett’s appointment as Deputy CEO, Infrastructure, Planning & Environment is the culmination of an extensive nationwide selection process undertaken by Davidson Recruitment Solutions,” said Mr Zaknich.“We welcome Bridgett to the new role and know she will play a significant and exceptional role in delivering our community’s vision for Albury to be a nationally significant regional city that is vibrant, diverse and innovative, and connected and inspired by its culture, environment and location on the Murray River.”
