In the first full meeting since the December 2021 Local Government Election, the new Albury City Council met last evening, marking a new leadership era for the Albury community.The new Council is led by Mayor Kylie King and Deputy Mayor Steve Bowen, and is made up of 4 new, 3 returning, and 2 former Councillors.Mayor Kylie King noted the great mix of skills and experience within the Councillor group, and the great teamwork that had already been established.“Our new team have come together with enthusiasm and passion, a commitment to listening to our community, and will focus on making informed decisions that deliver strong outcomes for our growing region,” said Cr King.“This is my first experience as a Councillor, and I’d really like to thank my colleagues for the faith they have shown in me by electing me Mayor.”Deputy Mayor Steve Bowen said that through Councillors and Council officers working together we will continue to move our region forward and make it an even better place to live, work, play, invest and visit.“It’s about focussing on the things that matter, engaging with our community, taking advantage of the beautiful region we live in, and advocating for positive change,” said Cr Bowen.In a packed Council meeting agenda there were two Notices of Motion tabled.
