Works to improve Urana Road

The works will take place between Buchhorn Street and Heathwood Avenue on the weekends of 19 and 20 September, and 26 and 27 September.Traffic from Breen, Buchhorn & Heathwood will be detoured around the work site, and traffic along Urana Road will under traffic control and motorists should expect delays.The project will include: Kerb and gutter, and footpath and driveway repairs (already commenced)Removal and replacement of existing elm treesRemoval of the asphalt surface and spray sealNew asphalt surfacing, andNew line-marking Our horticultural team will remove five ageing elm trees from the road shoulder at 389, 393, 399, 408 and 412 Urana Road.The trees must be removed because they’re in poor health and have structural problems.They’ll be replaced with advanced London plane trees to match the existing theme along the road.Council teams will work to minimise disruption to residents but some construction noise will occur.
