Pfizer pop-up at Green Valley District Centre this weekend

Mayor of Liverpool Wendy Waller today announced the launch of a three-day pop-up Pfizer vaccination hub at Green Valley District Centre where residents aged between 16 and 59 will be able to walk-in and get their jab.The COVID-19 vaccination clinic will deliver the first dose between Friday 17 September to Sunday 19 September 2021, followed by the second dose on Friday 8 October to Sunday 10 October 2021.Mayor Waller said Liverpool’s COVID-19 vaccination rate currently stands at around 80 per cent for the first dose, affirming that residents were responding positively to efforts by Council to make vaccines readily available.“Council is dedicated to ensuring those who want the COVID-19 vaccination are able to access it locally and without unreasonable wait times,” Mayor Waller said.“This new pop-up vaccination hub increases the capacity of our staff to administer the vaccine rollout in Liverpool and to further protect our residents, families and the wider community.“We have reached an exciting milestone in our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and we look forward to providing vaccinations to more people from our community as the expanded roll out continues.“I’d like to thank the staff for their ongoing efforts and also thank everyone who has been involved in the planning and establishment of the clinic.”Mayor Waller has led a lobbying campaign in recent months, calling on the NSW Government to work with Council to bring COVID-19 vaccines closer to home for Liverpool residents. This campaign resulted in the establishment of a number walk-in AstraZeneca and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination hubs across Liverpool in August and September.“Walk-in AstraZeneca vaccination hubs in Council’s community facilities have now resumed in addition to a number of new Pfizer hubs, and we are confident that our residents will continue to do the responsible thing and get vaccinated," Mayor Waller said. The Green Valley District Centre COVID-19 vaccination clinic will operate from 8.30am to 4.30pm.Green Valley District Centre is located at 171-183 Wilson Road, Green Valley. For more information about the COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Liverpool and Council’s response to the pandemic, visit Council’s Coronavirus page.
