Council opens another car parking facility at a speedy rate

Liverpool City Council has opened a new 78-space car park at Speed Street, confirming its commitment to improving access to the city centre. The new car parking facility at 68 Speed Street is fully accessible, has lighting and provides more capacity for commuters travelling to or via Liverpool. It is open 24 hours, seven days a week with a restricted two-hour parking limit from 4pm to 10pm.Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the new car park in the south of the city optimises existing parking infrastructure and supports the demands for more parking in the CBD.“Council is pleased to announce the opening of another car park for the convenience of people coming to and through our city for work, study or leisure,’’ Mayor Waller said.“The provision of parking is a priority and we are working to ensure our city’s parking infrastructure meets the demands of a growing population and economic development.“Council continues to lobby for infrastructure funding in line with the demands of our growing community.
