Sydney Fringe Festival comes to Liverpool

7 September 2018For the first time this September, Sydney’s iconic Fringe Festival is coming to Liverpool. The Fringe is the largest independent arts festival in NSW and provides a stage, microphone or a screen to a diverse group of artists and performers.Free live performances and entertainment will fill Liverpool City’s Northumberland Arcade and Macquarie Bistro from 20 September to 29 September.Creative Director for the Fringe Festival’s Liverpool Hub Nisrine Amine said she is proud to showcase the art of the west and feels honoured to have had a hand in bringing Sydney’s iconic Fringe Festival to Liverpool.“Hopefully moving forward, mainstream media and the live entertainment and performing arts industries can slowly start to reflect the rampant diversity that is Sydney,” she said.“Actors, writers, singers, dancers, comedians and performers from the west will feel as though they too are part of the cultural fabric of our great city.”Festival-goers will be able to walk through the street and view performances for free. The Sydney Fringe Festival, now in its ninth year, aims to connect artists with the community to motivate audiences and provide them with opportunities to discover their own talents.
