Notification of results for Moree Plains Councillor  The Distribution of Preferences has been conducted.The final count reports can be found on the NSW Electoral Commission's results website1. Click the contest link to view the election results Recounts A recount will only occur:• if a recount request from a candidate is accepted by the Electoral Commissioner, or • on the Electoral Commissioner's own motion.Any request for a recount must: • be in writing, and• be signed by the candidate, and• set out the reasons for the request, and• be lodged with the Returning Officer within 24 hours of the results being published on the NSW Electoral Commission website.The preferred way to lodge a recount request is by email to:• the NSW Electoral Commission at [email protected], and• the Returning Officer (the email address can be found on the NSW Electoral Commission website).View more information about how to request a recount >>https://elections.nsw.gov.au/elections/local-government-elections/2024-nsw-local-government-elections/vote-count-information#recountWhere a recount is undertaken, the declaration of the results will be delayed until the completion of the recount.Please note that the 24-hour period commences from the ‘Final Results Available’ time, as shown in the Status History on the ‘Final Results’ website page:• select the relevant contest on the NSW Electoral Commission's result website.• select ‘Status History’ at the bottom of the Results page.• refer to the date and time stamp next to the ‘Final Results Available’ status. Once approved, the Returning Officer will sign the Declaration of Results and forward a copy to the council's General Manager who will make it available for public display.
