“I hope this makes you feel nice like the sunshine” – that’s the heart-warming message four year old Jillian has painted on her artwork for our Home Library Service clients.Jillian’s message is just one of almost 200 artworks made by children from Council Children’s Services across the Northern Beaches that will arrive in Home Library Service deliveries this month. The Home Library Service supports people who are elderly or live with a disability, and it’s hoped that the children’s artworks will brighten their day in lockdown. The initiative has also taught the children an important lesson about vulnerable people living alone.Natalie Hemingway, Director of Harbour View Children’s Centre said:“The kids really loved creating the artworks for the Home Library Service clients”.“We explained to them where their paintings were going and had a really good conversation about how there are some people who live alone, and that can be particularly hard at the moment.
