Lookout officially named after former Mayor Brian Green

Northern Beaches Council has formally acknowledged the extraordinary contributions former Councillor, Mayor and President of Warringah Council Brian Green made to the area by naming a lookout at Curl Curl after him.On Friday 31 March 2023, the lookout in Curl Curl on Carrington Parade (adjacent to the Swimming Club carkpark) was officially named the Brian Green Lookout and a plaque was unveiled with his wife and four children in attendance.A lifelong resident of the Northern Beaches, Mr Green served the community in various roles in the former Warringah Shire Council from 1980 to 1995.He played an important role in delivering a range of projects and programs that significantly benefited the community, including the Glen Street Theatre, the Coastal Environment Centre and the Northern Beaches Bicentennial Coastal Walk. This idyllic location was very important to Mr Green, and now the community and visitors to the area will learn of Brian’s incredible contribution through this memorial site. The fitting tribute was made just two days after his passing.
