The Coomalie Community Government Council is a Local Government Area in the Northern Territory, situated south of Darwin, Palmerston, and Litchfield local government areas. The council governs an area of 2,056km² and has an estimated population of 1,318.

The Council area includes the localities of Batchelor, Adelaide River and Lake Bennett.

The boundary of this area extends from the Manton Dam in the north, to the town of Adelaide River in the south and east from the Adelaide River, to the Litchfield National Park in the west.

Council's Ordinary General Meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

COVID-19 UPDATE – IMPORTANT INFORMATION – YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

The Chief Health Officer is introducing new directions in the interests of public health and safety.  From today, all patrons entering the Batchelor Swimming Pool, and the Adelaide River and Batchelor Community Libraries will be required to complete an attendance register.  This is to assist with contact tracing, in the event there should be a case of COVID-19 in our community.

You will be asked to record your name and phone number, the date of your attendance, and time you arrived and left the venue.  The Northern Territory Government requires everyone to provide this information.  There are no exceptions.  Patrons who refuse to provide this information, will be declined entry.

Over the next few weeks, similar protocols will be established at all Council venues.

To ensure your health and safety, Council will continue to maintain high levels of cleaning and hygiene and we ask you to remember to practice safe physical distancing and wash your hands regularly, or use the hand sanitiser dispensers that can be found at all Council public venues.

AUSTRALIA DAY FUN RUN

For the 2021 Australia Day celebration, we are holding a Community Fun Run before the formal proceedings for the community to be more involved in the day, and to help celebrate what makes our community great!

The registration form can be found at Registration Form (nt.gov.au), simply complete the form, sign the back of the document and return to Council with your $5 entry fee. All proceeds from the event go to Dolly's Dream to support their efforts to reduce cyber-bullying within the community.
