Tropical Coast Tourism is hosting free ‘Gearing your Business’ workshops for Cassowary Coast business owners and operators across the region next week to help them make the most of local events and provide the best experience for visitors.
The region’s local tourism organisation has engaged tourism specialist Russell Boswell to deliver the free workshops.
Cooperative marketing and experience development have been central themes in Russell’s career, from developing his own successful tourism businesses to mentoring and training roles with a range of tourism operations, from roadhouses and restaurants to hotels, wildlife parks and attractions, ranger groups, national parks and regional museums.
“Please join Tropical Coast Tourism for an evening of canapés and drinks, or Innisfail Business Breakfast, to meet other business owners and managers building tourism, and discover how your business can benefit long-term from our visitors and regional events,” Russell said.
The workshops will be held at the Cardwell Country Club on Monday, August 12, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm; at the Tully Visitor Information Centre on Tuesday, August 13, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, Mission Beach C4 Theatrette on Wednesday, August 14 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and at Queens Hotel in Innisfail next Thursday, August 15, from 8am to 10am. Cr Ben Heath encouraged local businesses to join Russell Boswell for a stimulating look at how businesses could build profit and refresh their approach in the commercial world.
“Tropical Coast Tourism is bringing Russell to each of our major towns so I encourage local business owners to attend and pick up some tips on how they can make the most of events like this month’s Red Bull Defiance, and the visitors they attract,” he said.
“Council is happy to assist TCT with this important free event for our local businesses.”
