It is that time of year again when Mareeba Shire shines bright to celebrate the festive season in the annual Christmas Lights Competition supported by the Mareeba Shire Council and The Express Newspaper.
“The Christmas Lights Competition is a wonderful opportunity for residents, businesses and neighbours to spread some Christmas cheer and decorate for the whole community to enjoy,” said Mareeba Mayor Angela Toppin.
“Last year, we had 22 amazing entries across four categories which are residential homes, rural homes, businesses and streets,” said Mayor Toppin.
Participants can enter online here. This includes submitting a photo and short video of their lights. If any participant is unable to apply online, please contact Council for assistance on 1300 308 461.
Entries close on Sunday, 8 December and the winner will be announced on Friday, 13 December 2024. Winners will also receive a cash prize of $150.
