Council to undertake safety tree works at Cairns Botanic Gardens

There will be disruptions in and around the Cairns Botanic Gardens on Thursday 19 December and Friday 20 December to allow for tree safety works to be undertaken.Council will remove a dead palm tree from a centre island along Collins Avenue in Edge Hill on Thursday 19 December.To allow this to occur safely, there will temporary lane closures in place along Collins Avenue from 8am on Thursday until 2pm on Friday.Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes if possible.Council will also be temporarily closing the Gondwana Evolution Garden from 8am on Thursday until 2pm on Friday to allow for trimming of a large raintree to ensure public safety.There will be some impact to parking near Tank 64 Café, and the old entrance to the Red Arrow walking track will be closed.Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
