North Ipswich Open Space Master Plan gets green light

North Ipswich Open Space Master Plan gets green light 24 July 2018 A NEW North Ipswich Open Space Master Plan to guide future land use adjacent to the Bremer River has been adopted by Ipswich City Council.More than 80 per cent of respondents during the public consultation phase in March this year indicated their support of the draft plan.Works, Parks and Sport committee deputy chairperson Cr David Morrison said the community was asked direct questions to add value to the final plan.“In March council actively sought feedback and public comment during displays and through an online survey.“Key among the responses were the need for shade when developing park land, a new pedestrian bridge over the Bremer River, and a focus on the future sports stadium and old Woollen Mills precinct in North Ipswich.“The public gave great positive feedback and support for the draft master plan so no major changes are required.”Cr Morrison said residents demonstrated support for the North Ipswich Open Space Master Plan and provided valuable comments which indicated the plan satisfied the needs of the community.“This is a visionary document which establishes how public open space will integrate with, and complement and service future growth.”Five key council business plans and strategies were incorporated in the development the North Ipswich Open Space Master Plan.
