Vision transforms old sewage treatment plant and animal pound site into Capricorn Coast Homemaker

Council’s proactive vision, along with the input of approximately $3.11 million from the State Government through the ‘Works for Queensland’ program is transforming the former animal pound and sewage treatment plant site into Stage 1 of a Capricorn Coast Homemaker Centre.Strategically positioned to capitalise on key main road exposure, the landmark project, situated on approximately nine hectares of Council owned land adjacent to the Tanby Road roundabout, will this year progressively begin its transition to become a major ‘large format’ retail hub.Mayor Bill Ludwig said with Reece Plumbing already constructed and operational this is a real success story, especially given that a little more than two years ago the area was listed as a contaminated site.
