Council is introducing designated smoke-free play spaces to protect children from the dangers of passive smoking, coming into effect from 1 June 2019.An action within Council’s endorsed Living Well Plan for Health and Wellbeing, notes an objective to promote and expand smoke-free environments within the City of Unley, in line with the Tobacco and E-Cigarette Products Regulation Act 1997. The key purpose of applying this law is to protect children from the dangers of passive smoking.
