Making Regional Big Bash History

Your Striker’s team will feature a host of talent including Captain Suzie Bates, experienced UK import Lauren Winfield and Barossa and Light Cricket Association’s own Darcie Brown, who at just 16 is the youngest player (male or female) to sign a contract with the Strikers. Nuriootpa Cricket Club committee member, Brett Lydeamore, who has played a key role in facilitating the hosting of the game, says, “This is a great opportunity to enjoy high calibre cricket, and hosting the game is certainly a feather in the cap for country community cricket.” There will be plenty of pre-game entertainment from 12.30pm including inflatables and activities for the kids, free giveaways and music. The Barossa Council Manager, Community Projects, Rebecca Tappert said, “We are really pleased to be part of bringing such a high calibre event to our community and is something we are keen to do more of in the future – it is an excellent opportunity for sports tourism in the region.” The game gets underway from 2pm and entry is free.
