Get creative this school holidays with ‘PAINT WHAT YOU HEAR’, an immersive performance and sensory art workshop experience coming to Ararat, Willaura and Pomonal on 26 – 28 September.

Led by musician Erica Rasmussen and visual artist Zakiya Kurdi, PAINT WHAT YOU HEAR incorporates classical and contemporary music with visual art to engage young people in the arts, encouraging them to respond to live music using painting and drawing.

Performing Arts Coordinator Tim Lewis said the Ararat Town Hall is committed to providing greater access to the arts and opportunities for families across Ararat Rural City to gather and connect through its programming.

“The Town Hall is excited to extend its children’s programming to venues across the municipality for the school holidays,” Mr Lewis said.

“PAINT WHAT YOU HEAR is an affordable, unique, and high-quality workshop experience that combines different forms of the arts.

“Children have the opportunity to get creative while responding to music with their imagination – this could be drawing lines, shapes, and using different colours. “Best of all, the workshops will be a whole lot of fun and messy!”

$15 tickets. All materials for the workshop will be supplied - we advise participants to wear old clothes.

The 45-minute immersive performance and workshop are aimed at young people aged between 4 to 12 years. Children must be supervised by an adult.
