Nothing brightens up a grey winter’s day like neon does.When you add disco music and ice skates to the mix, it’s a recipe for the perfect day out with your family and friends.That’s exactly what you can expect this Ballarat Winter Festival with the return of the pop-up ice skating rink.Attracting more than 15,000 people each year, the popular pop-up ice skating rink returns with new experiences in 2019 including one-hour Neon Disco sessions, learn to skate sessions and exclusive rink hire.The rink opens on Saturday morning, with the schedule extended for an additional week this year.Over the next three weeks (between 29 June and 21 July), eight one-hour session will be held on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday between 9am and 8.30pm.From Thursday through to Saturday, nine one-hour session will be held between 9am and 10pm, with Neon Disco sessions at 7.30pm and 9pm.The learn to skate session will take place at 9am on Saturdays.The pop-up ice skating rink is presented by the City of Ballarat and Stars on Ice as part of the Ballarat Winter Festival.
