Works underway along Five Mile Creek in Romsey Published on 14 December 2020 The first stage of a project to rejuvenate sections of Five Mile Creek and upgrade nearby pathways in Romsey is underway. The works, which are part of the Romsey Five Mile Creek Master Plan, include the removal of some Elms and Willows where the creek intersects with Pohlman Street to prepare the site for the pathway works. A sealed pathway will be installed along Pohlman Street—from the Lions Park to Robb Drive—early next year. The master plan, which was adopted in 2019, sets out a program of works to improve the recreation and environmental values of the creek and surrounding areas. Willows are recognised as one of the most serious threats to waterways in temperate Australia.
