Mystic Park to shift gears under new management

Elevation Parks was awarded the contract to oversee management, operations and maintenance of Mystic Park by Alpine Shire Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting held in April this year.   Alpine Shire Mayor, Cr John Forsyth, commended the tireless efforts and commitment of local volunteers for shaping Mystic Park into the popular destination it is today.  "This achievement is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our dedicated volunteer groups, including Alpine Cycling Club, Bright and District Chamber of Commerce, Hancock Victorian Plantations (HVP), North East Victoria Hang Gliding Club, and the Council.   "Their teamwork has transformed the park into a significant community asset that will only continue to grow under the management of Elevation Parks."  HVP General Manager Northern Region, Mick Evans, said that the great work of ACP should be acknowledged.   "That's been a 10-plus year journey, but that journey in itself has allowed us to be here today in a really positive space, thinking about the new chapter and the new era forward," he said.   "HVP is really positive about the future with Alpine Shire Council and Elevation Parks, and setting up this recreational precinct for the community to enjoy for many years to come."  Elevation Parks Director, Simon French, said that Elevation Parks has seen the journey that Mystic Park has been on across the last 10 years.   "We're keen to take it to the next step," he said.  "We're working on a plan to develop a lot of infrastructure, including a check-in building, bike patrol, bike rentals, bike coaching and bike school.   "We've got the new uplift area that's just come online this week, we've got the shuttle service running and we've got a big trail development program.  "We're looking to activate a whole lot of new trails for riders of all abilities, including adaptive riders, and new trails for families and kids."  Council thanks all of the many volunteers and organisations involved in Mystic Park over the years, extending particular gratitude to ACP and Blue Dirt for their continued passion and work in the park.  For more information about Mystic Park, visit www.elevationmystic.com/.
