The following matters were considered and endorsed at the October 2024 Council Meeting.

Annual Report 2023-24

Council received the Annual Report 2023-24, which provides an overview of Council’s performance in the last financial year including against the Council Plan and Budget for that year.

Highlights for 2023-24 included:

$45.9 million of capital works delivered, including Council’s biggest ever single capital works investment in the Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct in New Gisborne more than 250,000 metres squared of sealed road upgrades and maintenance carried out, and more than 3,600 sealed road potholes and defects patched more than 15,500 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill, saving an estimated $1.47 million enactment of the new Community Local Law 2023, setting out a range of localised regulations in the shire – from permits to rubbish, to pets – for the next 10 years adoption of the Romsey Structure Plan, a key planning document that will guide the growth and development of the town until 2050 35 community consultations undertaken and more than 1,100 submissions received, on a range of Council initiatives, allowing for them to be contributed to and shaped by the Macedon Ranges community. 

The Annual Report will be available to view in the coming weeks, and hard copies will be available at Council offices.

Community Directorate Integrated Annual Report

Council noted the Community Directorate Integrated Annual Report 2023-2024 and Action Plan 2024-2025.

The Report streamlines the annual reporting process and action plans for four of the major strategies and plans within the Community Directorate that support the delivery of Council’s Community Vision and Council Plan. These include:

Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025 (MPHWP) Disability Action Plan 2021-2025 (DAP) Participate – The Positive Ageing Plan 2020-2025 (PAP) Create – The Municipal Early Years Plan 2021-2025

The Community Directorate Integrated Annual Report and Action Plan will be available to view in the coming weeks 

Red Gap Road, Lancefield

Council noted an update to a Council officer’s recommendation at the 28 August 2024 Scheduled Council meeting, to correct a historic administrative error in the Council’s Asset Management System and the Public Road Register for three segments of Red Gap Road in Lancefield.

The matter was deferred to the October 2024 Council Meeting following concerns from residents and other parties.

Council has since conducted further traffic surveys of the area and will now consult with impacted residents and those who have expressed an interest in the matter regarding the survey results, the proposed corrections, and exploring other possible options before progressing the matter further.
