The 2024 Pakenham Carols by Candlelight was a stunning success, bringing together the community for an unforgettable evening of music, joy, and Christmas spirit.
Hosted at Toomuc Recreation Reserve on 7 December, the event attracted hundreds of attendees who gathered to celebrate the magic of Christmas.
Despite some initial concerns about the weather, families from all around turned out in high spirits, enjoying the enchanting atmosphere filled with joyous carols, delicious food stalls, and festive activities. Pre-show activities, including face painting and festive games, entertained the little ones while parents soaked in the holiday cheer.
The event featured an impressive line-up of talented performers, each contributing to the heartwarming experience. Local choirs, musicians, and solo artists took the stage, creating a beautiful soundscape that resonated throughout the reserve. Their incredible performances were met with enthusiastic applause and lively sing-alongs, showcasing the true spirit of community.
"We are thrilled with the turnout and the overwhelming support from everyone who attended," said Cardinia Shire Council Mayor, Cr Jack Kowarzik. "This event truly reflects our community's spirit and camaraderie during the holiday season. It was heartwarming to see families and friends come together, and we're grateful to everyone who played a part in making it so memorable."
The evening was made even more special with the appearance of Santa Claus, who mesmerised the community with his cheerful presence.
As the night concluded, attendees left with smiling faces, beautiful memories, and a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky.
Cardinia Shire Council would like to thank the local businesses, organisations, volunteers, and performers who dedicated their time and effort to make the Pakenham Carols by Candlelight a memorable occasion. We wish everyone a safe and cheerful holiday season.
