Celebrated from 17 - 23 March 2025, Cultural Diversity Week’s theme this year is 'Embrace the Journey, Shape Our Future’, highlighting the unique and shared cultural journeys that define our diverse communities. The theme encourages residents to honour their own cultural stories and those of others, fostering understanding, belonging, and connection.
To celebrate the rich diversity of the region, Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services will share expert knowledge on cultural awareness, cultural insight, and cross-cultural communication techniques. The following events are planned:
Cross-Cultural Awareness Training – Gisborne 17 March 2025 Macedon Ranges Further Education Centre – 12 Hamilton Street, Gisborne
Cross-Cultural Awareness Training – Woodend 20 March 2025 Woodend Community Centre - Corner High and Forest Streets, Woodend
These events aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to navigate and appreciate the cultural richness of our community.
Mayor Dom Bonanno welcomed the Macedon Ranges community to participate in this year’s celebrations.
"Cultural Diversity Week is a chance for us to come together and celebrate the many cultures that make our community unique,” he said.
“I often speak proudly of my own Italian heritage and the many sacrifices my parents made so I could have a better life. They taught me the value of hard work, family, and food!”
"When we embrace diversity, we build stronger connections and a greater sense of belonging for everyone. I encourage everyone in the Macedon Ranges to join in, share their stories, and be part of this wonderful celebration of our shared community."
