Nature Play Day in the Gardens for Easter Holidays

Kids do better outside!

This Easter holidays, join us in the gardens for a day of fun and activities surrounded by nature.

Attendees will explore the landscape on nature walks, investigate clever hiding places on a scavenger hunt, try their hand at some bush craft, paint watercolours, experiment with textural sculpture in clay play activities, and much more.

Ararat Rural City Council believes all children’s play is critical in helping them develop into confident and healthy people. Nature Play Day is part of our early development mission in connecting children with nature and outdoor play experiences that they will cherish forever.

The day’s activities are suitable for kids of all ages; please note children must be accompanied by an adult. No need to register – simply turn up on the day. Bring a drink bottle, a coat if it looks like rain, and be sure to wear old clothes which you don’t mind getting dirty!

“Playing outside is essential for our children's healthy development,” says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong. “It nurtures physical fitness, a strong immune system, and provides our kids with avenues to imaginative play and exploration. But far beyond the physical, it means our young people cultivate their social skills and learn how to reduce stress, alongside contributing to a lifelong connection with nature.”
