Ararat Rural City’s roads team has the redevelopment of Truscott Street well underway with works anticipated to be completed next month. The $376,000 Truscott Street project is being delivered thanks to support from the Australian Government’s Road to Recovery Fund. “Funds for this project are going directly to the local economy. The project is being undertaken by Council staff with local suppliers prioritised to provide materials,” Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison said. Formally an unsealed road with insufficient drainage, Truscott Street has been a point of frustration for residents. “The redevelopment of the road includes new kerbing, catchments and drainage, which will collect rainfall through underground pipes, flowing to a natural catchment,” Dr Harrison continued. “Flooding has been a recurring issue in the past and shifting drainage underground will rectify the matter.” “Truscott Street is also an important linkage road for local and heavy vehicles.
