The community is being encouraged to have their say on how waste will be managed for the next 20 years at an upcoming interactive workshop scheduled to be held from 4pm to 6.30pm on Monday 13 August in the Margaret River Council Chambers.
“The changes we make will impact those who live or work in the Shire, as well as visitors and tourists, so we want to ensure we get plenty of input from the community on this important project.
“This workshop will focus on our residential bin systems and how we can maximise recovery without increasing cost and look at local processing options.”
“We will also look at commercial waste and consider ways and means of processing the by-products of local industry.”
The workshop will include a presentation from Adam Johnson of MRA Consulting and Louise Edmonds of intuitearth, followed by an overview of the Shire’s Waste Feasibility Study and residential waste audit.
