Nearly $200,000 has been allocated to 33 community groups, organisations and individuals in the first round of the 2018-19 Cockburn Community Fund – the City of Cockburn’s Grants, Donation and Sponsorship program. Recipients were announced at a ceremony at the City’s Administration Building on Tuesday, 27 November 2018.The September funding round received 44 applications, including 16 applications for Community Grants, 14 applications for Donations and 4 for Sponsorship.This round’s funding included Donations of $117,875, Grants of $52,330, Scholarships of $1,850 and Sponsorship of $27,400, totalling $199,455.“Each year, through the Cockburn Community Fund, the City distributes more than one million dollars in financial support to local community groups, organisations and individuals for a wide range of activities,” said Mayor Logan Howlett.“To all of our recipients, thank you for the valuable work that you do to make Cockburn the fantastic place we all love to live, work and visit,” said Mayor Howlett.Some of the recipients include: Yangebup Family Centre – $13,125 to enable the Centre to provide affordable crèche services.
